Destination: Lake Wenchi & Menagesha Forest National Area
Day 1: Addis Ababa → Lake Wenchi Crater Lake
Early in the morning, we depart from Addis Ababa with Lungo Local Tour Ethiopia for a scenic drive toward the spectacular Lake Wenchi, one of Ethiopia’s most beautiful crater lakes.
Upon arrival, you will experience one of the following activities based on your preference:
- Horseback riding along the crater rim trails
- Hiking down into the lush green valleys surrounding the lake
- Boat trip across the lake to visit Cherkos Island Monastery
- Relaxing at natural hot springs around the lake
You will enjoy breathtaking views of cliffs, waterfalls, and volcanic landscapes.
In the evening, transfer to Woliso lodge or a comfortable hotel nearby for overnight stay, dinner, and relaxation.
Day 2: Menagesha Forest → Addis Ababa
After breakfast, we continue with Menagesha Suba Forest Park, one of the oldest protected forests in Africa.
Here you will enjoy guided hiking and wildlife exploration, including:
- Colobus monkeys
- Endemic Menelik’s bushbuck
- Bird species such as Ethiopian oriole & Abyssinian woodpecker
- Ancient indigenous forest landscapes
After the hike, we drive back to Addis Ababa in the afternoon. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner with live traditional Ethiopian music, celebrating your journey before airport transfer or hotel drop-off.
